ACE Hotel, Pittsburgh  

The ACE Hotel project was an adaptive reuse of an existing YMCA building built in 1908.  This complex project had many challenges to overcome, including early 1900s construction methods and its status as a National Parks Service Historic Landmark.  The hotel has 63 rooms, a full size gym, a ballroom and a full service restaurant.  The building features historically accurate replacement windows, special fire systems to allow for a code-compliant solution to maintaining the grand open stairwell, and much of the original woodworking and detailing has been preserved and restored. Work completed with mossArchitects, the Architect of Record.
